7 Thoughts That Will Help You Believe in Yourself

‘To thine own self be true’. I’m sure you’ve heard this but what does it actually mean? Generally speaking it relates to being honest with yourself and knowing yourself. Sound easy?

For most of us it’s not. A good place to start is really considering what makes you happy and what your aspirations are? These are different for us all and that’s ok.

Prioritising your wants and needs is ever changing and is dependent and shaped by what life stage you’re at; adolescents, young adult, adult, middle aged etc.

Understanding yourself and paying attention to your desires is a good foundation to begin the journey. Sometimes though we all question ourselves and need internal prompts to keep us on track.

I AM ABLE

Be realistic with yourself and don’t set yourself up to fail, this self belief is a must in your mind toolkit. As a starting point base this internal statement on fact.

IT MAKES ME FEEL STRONG

Feel the feeling of success. Do you like it? You know what you have to do to experience it again. Embrace all your hard work but don’t stop there. You have to maintain the attitude to retain the feelings.

I CAN DO THIS

If you need to base this on fact then think back to times when you did achieve your goals. They don’t need to be significant achievements but you need to have a store of them to combat the natural negative thoughts that come to us all in times of uncertain.
